Six Senses Laamu Ocean Water Villa | Maldives - Ultimate Travel Bucket List

Maldives has forever been in my bucket list - Everything about Maldives is beyond words 🌴🍃😍At Six Senses, time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun. The week I spent in Six Senses Laamu Ocean Water Villa with hubby was completely an unforgettable experience. Full of excitement and rich in body, mind and spirit relaxation. 🌏✈December's motto is to live that dream❤
Check out this endless paradise at our doorstep!☀🌴🔛
How many times in our life do we have the opportunity to rest our eyes on the beauty of this world? We decided to make a trip for our anniversary to one of the God's beautiful creations, Maldives. Maldives isn’t just another pearl in Asia, it’s the world's most picturesque pearl! Our desire to go Maldives for at least once in a life time has finally come true when we booked our trip with Six Senses Laamu.

Ever since back in 2012, we were often amazed by their concept made for Robinson Crusoe’s hut and pleasantly rustic feeling of their eco-friendly villas which are popularly shared in social media. Since then, it has become our first choice in our heart without us knowing it. We went through a lot of travel fair and online researches of which resorts are the best for our first Maldives trip and we can’t find any suitable resorts except Six Senses Laamu.
During the planning, we requested all the menu and excursions price list from Six Senses Laamu to make a detailed planning. Besides, we acknowledged that we need to take domestic flight from Male to Kadhdhoo before taking a boat ride to their resort at Laamu.
Before you read our journey, you may check out our video on Six Senses Laamu Maldives.
By the time we reached Male, it was 8 o clock in the morning. We had a really bad experience during the transit which was not properly arranged by Malaysia Airlines in Sri Lanka, so, we were totally exhausted. It’s like a savior when we saw our butler waiting for us at the airport arrival hall. We began to feel the warmth from Six Senses Laamu! Everything seems to be automated and was completely done by Six Senses crew.
(Note: Light breakfast buffet is provided in domestic lounge and it’s already arranged by the butler before hand)
After waiting for an hour, the first flight to Kadhdhoo airport started to signal for our boarding. During our flight, again we can’t get enough of the amazing scene of God’s creation. After an hour, we arrived at Kadhdhoo airport. We were greeted by another person in charge guiding us to the speedboat. On the boat, we were treated with dried coconut and coconut drink. It was so refreshing. As far as I could remember, we were shocked by the immediate thrust of the boat momentum. It was way too fast and I almost lost control of my balance. A moment later, the island was in our eye sight. Its beauty was accompanied with the softness of sunlight and it was way over my expectation. Heaven, it’s the best described for this place.
When the ocean looks like a bed of diamonds 💎
We were greeted by the guardians of the heaven, I mean, the management team of Six Senses Laamu. Next, we were introduced by GM to each of our very own GEM (Guest Experience Maker, Mr Y).
We were delighted to be his guest of honor. He walked us through the whole over-water area which consists of restaurants and other facilities. Without further delay, we hopped onto a golf cart heading to our villa, I was so surprised that they managed to arrange the ocean villa based on our request, the villa that we used to know him through the web for an extremely long time and finally we get to stay on it!
(Room Tip: Choose Jetty A or C for unobstructed sea view. As jetty A is nearer to main activities area, I would suggest to stay in the middle area of Jetty A for lesser noise)

On the island, it’s totally encouraged to leave your footwear behind and walk with your naked foots, however, I found this a little dangerous as there were few sharp wooden spikes on the bridge. So, it’s better to stay on bicycle while we are on the bridge.
On ya bike 🚲✌🏻️
After we made our self-tour, we checked out the leaf restaurant and the surroundings of the island. Lastly, we made our stop at Chill Bar to enjoy the sunset bath before taking a good rest in our villa.

All vacations need to be like this. Spend most of the day horizontal by the beach🏖
Today I'm not moving from here😎
Even my nails are excited for the beach vacay! 💅💫 I'm ready to go under the sea with my mermaid inspired nails🐚✌💕
One of the things to do in Laamu Villa is to enjoy their in-villa dining experience, so we made a call for that because we were so fatigued after the trip hassle.

The Longitude restaurant buffet breakfast should not be missed-you'll regret if you skip ya breakfast there! They provide a series of buffet with some side menu that allows you for bottomless order-I woke up early in the morning everyday because of the delicious breakfast!
Heavenly mornings with amazing ocean view at breakfast ☀🌊🍹☕
Perfect spot for breakfast suspended over the stunning azure water🍹🍉🍇🌊How blissful it is to have breakfast with such a beautiful view EVERYDAY🙃

How gorgeous is today's weather ☀🍍🍉🍌perfect blue sky and sunny day!
Not to mention that, ice creams are served daily for free. Their flavors and varieties are definitely on top notch qualities. My husband-an ice cream lover-tried at least half of the forty and more kinds!😎
Deciding on which flavours to try is not that simple when there are 42 different flavours to choose from🍦
A balanced diet is an ice cream in each hand🍦
At night, we booked our dinner at Zen. Zen is one of their restaurants and it is just located on top of ice cream corner. Their tempura cuisines were so fresh and crispy with light soy sauces which mixed so well when dipped.
Six Senses staffs amazed me with their exceptional experience. Our GEM surprised us with romantic petals and a pair of lovely swans on the bed when we came back from dinner.❤🦄
Look at our bed spread!
Definition of paradise! 💦📷

We also experienced our diving in Six Senses Laamu. We joined Ocean Dimensions single boat dive excursion to Laama Faru Haa dive site which is a huge underwater hill with lots of fantastic corals and mystical creatures. We were accompanied with Margarita and another dive buddy. At first, I was so afraid of jumping into the water because Mr. Ocean was so choppy today. It was an old habit of mine, afraid of something I have lost tracked since 2014 Bali Tulamben Dive Experience.
However, when I dived into the great Pacific Ocean, the great feeling of calmness as if the ocean was hugging me again, once again, the sound of silence and its spectacular undersea symphony made me found the reason of loving the sea again.
During our diving session, we brought GoPro along with our diving. It was set at 1080p 60 fps for default best setting for our first underwater shooting.
Besides that, snorkeling is one of the most recommended activities as you can just jump off from their Chill Bar restaurant or simply "walk" down from your villa.
Time for a dip👙Today I'm a magical mermaid✨🐠
There were plenty of corals and fishes, even, dolphins or sea turtles 🐢 can be seen. Occasionally, dolphins can be seen swimming through the deep sea near Longitude Restaurant. By the way, their house reef near to Chill Bar is the best place to snorkeling with.

There is a GEM party at Sip Sip on every Tuesday. It’s the place where you gather and join everybody to enjoy the beautiful sunset while sipping cocktails. On that night, we also got the chance to watch the Maldivian traditional dancing performance.
Yes please!!☀🍸🙌
Other than that, their spa was sublime, their service staffs were friendly and well trained.
Just next to the spa center, there is a gym overlooking the breathtaking ocean, the yoga centre is located just right above the gym. Further down the lane, its water sports center provides all kind of water sports from paddle boarding to kayaking, wind surfing, catamaran and other boat excursions.
Get fit in paradise 💪🌴
It doesn't get any better than kayaking on crystal clear water🙌💎🌊💦
🌞Salty Saturday 💦📷 I think a little of this is in order for the rest of the week..!💃✌
Dream-You don't need magic to disappear. All you need is a destination.
So, where to next?🦄
It’s indeed a very mesmerizing experience. Au Revoir Maldives! You have been amazing!🌴💙We will definitely come back for another trip in Maldives🙋

  2. Hi Zoez,

Which month you visited Maldives? Is Mid May suitable?

    1. I visited Maldives back in December. May might not be suitable as it's the beginning wet season in Maldives. However, some people go in May and get good weather. You can try ur luck in May, who knows you might get clear blue sky?
